STOP WAR Exhibition

First of all, I must say I am happy that our exhibition will take place in Japan.
In 1945, millions of civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki were killed during the atomic bombings by US military forces. These civilians had no role in any kind of wars or conflicts, yet they suffered genocide. Parts of the country became uninhabitable for the long term.

Unfortunately, today we are once again faced with wars in Congo, Russia-Ukraine, and Israel-Gaza. These wars result in millions of displaced people and acts of genocide. Capitalist regimes in the 21st century kill people in the name of war and their political purposes, easily forgetting human beings, civilians, and even civil rights. One stark example of genocide is the death of over 40,000 civilians in Gaza, half of whom were children. Wars reveal the true nature of these regimes and their politics; they do not value human life.

As graphic designers and artists, we must stand against all kinds of war around the world. There is no excuse for killing people anywhere. We are human and must proclaim the Anti-War movement loudly. I call upon the awakened conscience of people everywhere to stand against war for peace and freedom around the world.

With warm greetings,
Amir Asgari
