Keith Kitz’s Message for the Exhibition

Honored to curate this 60 image collection from the Stop War portfolio, and bring it to the Suffolk University Gallery as the university begins to welcome students for the new academic year.
The images have been strategically displayed on flag-like banners suspended from the ceiling to mimic the Stop War logo—which is a combination of a white flag and a poster tube. The banners also create a separate, reflective, room-like space within the overall gallery.

My heartfelt thanks to all of the artists and designers for around the globe who have supported Stop War. Please note: due to size constraints of the gallery, this Boston edition does not include the entire Stop War portfolio.

A Report on the “Stop War” Exhibition in Boston

Amir Asgari
August 22nd 24

The “Stop War” poster exhibition, following the selection of 121 top works from around the world and the initial online display on the official website, held its first physical exhibition featuring 100 works from 100 artists in early August 2024 in Nagoya, Japan. Thanks to Keith Kitz, a member of the jury and faculty member at Suffolk University Boston, an exhibition featuring 60 anti-war posters from submissions to the Stop War secretariat was held at the Frank Sawyer Gallery at Suffolk University in Boston.
The Stop War exhibition began on August 19, 2024, and will continue until September 6, 2024, at the Frank Sawyer Gallery. This exhibition showcases works by artists and designers from countries including the USA, Iran, Poland, France, Germany, South Korea, Japan, Turkey, China, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, India, Denmark, Romania, Argentina, and Peru.

The exhibition is taking place at Suffolk University Boston amid ongoing anti-war student protests in the United States, making it particularly significant. The jury for this exhibition includes Amir Asgari (Germany), Keith Kitz (USA), Kathiana Cardona Reyna (Venezuela), Hitoshi Miura (Japan), Kye-Soo Myung (South Korea), and Irwan Hornoko (Indonesia). The Iranian International Refugee Organization-Bimarz, PIN Japan, and Worldwide Graphic Designers are supporting organizations of this exhibition.

According to the jury and the board of directors of the Stop War organization, more exhibitions are currently being planned and evaluated.
